Five second dinners

Roemer Overdiep & I are planning a series of video shows inspiring people to take a few seconds to prepare a healthy hot meal.

It has to be kept under 5 seconds maximum because most people are willing to eat healthy and wholesome using fresh ingredients but they simply can't afford to be occupied in their kitchen for minutes at a time every single day.

This is a first one:

Of course, our primary passion is about enabling more people to cook healthy and affordable dinners for themselves and their family but one advantage of such a daily show is that even if the commercial before the start is just 7 seconds, the advert/content ratio is very attractive for business and this way we also provide a mental boost to other startups who will want to copy our success and good luck to them!

It turns out we are even eligible for European funding, because this fits perfectly in the existing budget for raising awareness of simple and healthy food in today's multicultural Europe across borders, mixing produce of fair trade vegetables and meats from real European family farms.

And we have also received some calls from health insurance companies who are looking for ways to 'rationalize' their policies, enabling them to support our 5 seconds health initiative, lower the premium for the people and at the same time making substantial cuts in the coverage. The aim is not primarily in making more money, although this is a welcome side effect.

This is in part about ensuring the insurance companies will be sustainable for many years to come. But salient here is the stimulus for the people to take responsibility for their own health, by feeding themselves well.  This campaign will be entertaining as well as shocking the viewers into empowerment as they will realize they must eat healthy to prevent any illness that will no longer be covered for them by the companies.

The video's will also have room for product placements, for instance promoting Polish turnips if these are temporarily overstocked locally. Since these products will be only on screen for a quarter of a second at most, the cooperation of farmers merely have to pay a modest fee and this way everyone profits, foremost the consumer who saves money and gains quality of life.

As we anticipate to be more than busy with this initiative, including the interviews on talk shows, articles, while we continue to improve the sound and screen quality, we will not have enough time to oversee production of the national versions in most of the other Euro zones. So we expect that by the end of the week a turnkey franchise model will be ready for colleagues here and abroad.

We so much look forward to work with these excellent institutions!

Hi Frans...

Have you been inspired by Jamie Oliver's 15 minute meals?

Just a quick question though...

Did you buy the vegetables pre-chopped and peeled?

:)

The idea was inspiring and at one time I bought an Oliver app but I never got the time to watch the video, much too long for me. I did quickly wash peel and chop the stuff from the greengrocer. ;-)
